Galvanized tent halls

Modular steel structures

Galvanized tent halls, and especially their steel parts, are subjected to a galvanizing process in order to protect them against corrosion. As a result, their resistance to mechanical damage and abrasion is increased. A thin layer of zinc, which adheres to the metal surface, limits the impact of weather conditions on the structural elements. Once treated, the facility remains operational for much longer than others made of non-galvanized steel.

Types of galvanization of steel elements

There are four common galvanizing methods. The following can be mentioned : powder coating, hot dip galvanizing, electrogalvanization and thermal spray. The first method consists in immersing the elements for several hours in powdered zinc. Such method is used in the automotive, aviation and building industries. The next type of galvanizing, which is characterized by high efficiency, is hot-dip galvanizing, also often called immersion. The pipes and profiles are placed in a bath filled with liquid zinc. As a result of the reaction with iron, an anti-corrosion coating adheres to the surface. Electrogalvanization involves immersing steel into a solution containing zinc salts. Electricity is an important element that induces an electrochemical reaction on top of the steel. The last method is the application of zinc powder. Being melted in an electric arc or in the form of gas, it is directed to the cleaned surface of steel parts.

Protection of tent halls against corrosion

Componants making up modular steel structures must be protected against corrosion. Warehouses, industrial or production facilities will be regularly exposed to moisture. The most popular method is hot-dip galvanizing. This process covers the steel surface of pipes, profiles and angles with a protective layer, even in hard-to-reach places such as perforations, necessary for the assembly process.

Modular steel structures

Tent halls, as constructions made of steel pipes and profiles, are not permanently fixed to the grounded. They are classified as temporary buildings. However, nothing prevents you from using them as a year-round protection for machines, equipment and vehicles. The frame of the structure is based on steel pipes and profiles. Thanks to a modular building system, structures can be assembled and disassembled many times, in order to change their location.
